How solar grid connected systems work
- Solar
Panels on Roof - The roof
mounted solar panels convert sunlight in to electricity
- Inverter
- The inverter takes the DC electricity generated by your solar
panels and converts it in to 240v AC power.
- Switchboard
- Power from the inverter is connected to your Switch board enabling
you to use it to run your appliances.
- Import
Export meter - Energy
produced by your PV system is fed back into the Grid via your import
export meter. Your electricity retailer then pays you for the power
you generate.
- Electricity
Network (Grid) - The
electricity Grid distributes your power for consumption by other
users.
